SNS Week of 10/30/2016

Michael Kiwanunka takes the top spot this week with "One More Night".  It's the first time in six weeks that neither Santana nor The Hounds of Winter were atop, as I attempt to catch up with individual weeks.   Last week, I failed to mention that Fitz & the Tantrums' hit the top 20 for the 16th consecutive time, with "Roll Up"; they make the top 5 and a tenth appearance at the top is very likely now.

A bunch of new songs in the top 20, headed by The Sam Roberts Band's 'If You Want It", followed closely by the Gregory Brothers' topical "Bad Hombres, Nasty Women".  Country star Jake Owen also enters that region, as does the first top 20 by pop superstars The Chainsmokers.    Their top 10 hit "Don't Let Me Down", featuring Daya, enters at #20.    But it's not their only entry on the SNS 100 this week.    "All We Know", which features Phoebe Ryan, bullets at #40, and they are joined by their long-running Billboard #1 song, "Closer", which features Halsey, at #90.  

You can actually place a chain between some artists this week.    Ryan debuts on her own as the Top Debut with "Boyz n Poizn" at #75.   Ryan also did a song with The Knocks, which I will add in a few weeks.   The Knocks advance with their Matthew Koma-featured song "I Wish (My Taylor Swift}", while Koma himself will soon debut with "Kisses Back" in a couple of week.    

Finally, rock veterans The Pretenders, with Chrissie Hynde fronting a new band, comes back onto my SNS 100 with "Holy Commotion".
