SNS 100 Week of 5/7/2017

DEATH, TAXES, another number one from Fitz and the Tantrums.   "Get Right Back" leaps from #3 to the top spot, becoming the band's eleventh #1 song on my blog.   That is seven more than the runner ups, Rachel Allyn and The Black Keys.    It is also the sixth straight song to top the charts, and a perfect four-for-four from their third, eponymous effort, which includes the first two official singles.     And although "HandClap", their biggest pop hit to date, finally leaves the playlist after 42 weeks, they still have "Roll Up' at #77.     Since their debut on SNS in December, 2010 with "MoneyGrabber", they've rarely been absent from my list.    The only gap between appearances was between August 2012, when "L.O.V."  from their first album Picking Up the Pieces, left the SNS 100, to February 2013, when "Out of My League" from More Than Just a Dream entered, they've been a fixture here.

Ed Sheeran, who had the previous #1 with "Shape Of You", has the top debut with "Castle on the Hill" which was released on the same day as that huge hit, but was geared to more rock-oriented stations who had discovered the artist originally with "The A Team" a few years back.
